Magnets & You additions:
1. On the initial slide of Basic magnets I meant to have this
photo showing the "invisible" magnetic lines of force shown when iron
filings are placed around the magnet:
2. And at the end of the presentation- how do magnets really
work? I normally mention how scientists don't know the
mechanisms for how they work and how they affect the body... there are
theories but no one really knows. I point to aspirin- for a
hundred+ years aspirin has been used with success but it wasn't until
the past 10 years that scientists actually uncovered the mechanisms of exactly how the aspirin works.
It is similar with magnetics... it is not known exactly how they work... yet the literature is there that they do.
